The Prairie Weaver’s Guild was organized in the late 1970’s to promote local interest in weaving, spinning and related fiber arts. Our interests and skills in the fiber arts continue to be broadened through monthly meetings featuring speakers which often include hands on activities. In addition, the Guild sponsors educational/experiential workshops by nationally recognized instructors throughout the year. Members demonstrate their fiber skills at various state and community events such as the Illinois State Fair, Illinois State Museum and Clayville Historical Site.
We welcome anyone interested in weaving, spinning and related fiber arts to join our community. We as an organization are committed to preserving and expanding the ever changing fabric of this rich tapestry that connects us all.
